Major breakthrough in PetroChina exploration! Another 1000 tons of oil well were born in Tarim Oilfield!

On February 11th, Luna new year's Eve, PetroChina announced that Manshen Well No.3, the key pre exploration well of PetroChina Tarim Oilfield, has obtained high-yield industrial oil and gas flow in the deep Ordovician ultra deep layer beyond 8000 meters. It has used 10 + 8 mm nozzles (equivalent to 13 mms) to open the well for gushing for production. It has obtained daily oil production of 1,610 cubic meters, natural gas of 525,000 cubic meters and oil and gas equivalent of 1690 tons, creating the highest daily production record for a single well in the carbonate field of Tarim Basin.

Manshen well No.3 is located in Shaya County, Xinjiang. It was drilled on June 30, 2020 and completed on January 10 this year. The well depth is 8010 meters, reaching 73 meters of high-quality reservoir and producing high-quality light crude oil. This well, together with the previous discoveries in Manshen well No.1 and Hade well No. 32, has realized the major oil and gas discoveries in the south, North and middle parts of this large oil-rich fault. It confirmed that good oil and gas reservoirs are developed in the carbonate rocks more than 7500 meters deep in the basin and also confirmed that the oil and gas resources in this fault zone exceed 200 million tons, and ensured the resource base of capability that  Fuman block  will produce 5 million tons of oil and gas equivalent annually in the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan " . Fushen oilfield, where manshen well No.3 is located, is the main block for crude oil production and the most realistic position for increasing reserves and production in Tarim Oilfield. At present, a large oil and gas area of 1 billion tons has been formed. Since last year, 25 100-ton oil wells have been drilled, with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons of oil and gas equivalent.
